#025: Oops, I Forgot To Have Kids…Or Did I? With Clarissa Castillo-Ramsey

When I asked in two FB groups: ”What are your thoughts on choosing to NOT have kids OR being on the fence?” I got 200 responses in under 30 minutes.

I don’t know if I did the topic justice but the aim was to demonstrate alongside my guest Clarissa that everyone has the right to find their joy regardless where it comes from; kids or no kids and that choosing to have kids or not are both natural and both need to be respected.

We cover:

// The different reasons people choose to not have kids.

// The reasons people don’t have kids such as infertility and why asking: “When are you going to have kids?” isn’t always welcomed.

// When it’s ok and when it’s not, to ask someone if they want kids or why they don’t want them.

// Not having kids does not mean we’re lacking or that something is wrong with us.

// How to deal with intrusive or inquisitive questions around your situation of not having kids.

// Why it’s even more pressure to have children when you’re married.

// I read some of the submissions I received from men and women around this topic.

// It’s ok for parents to mourn their life pre-kids, it doesn't make them bad or selfish parents.

This conversation could go on for hours, there are so many more things we could have covered but this was a start, I hope this episode is beneficial!
